Last day of work

My last time of work today. It is a break that I have longed for. I guess it is time for me to slow down and save some energy for the upcoming big event. LOL Mum and dad arrived in the weekend, helping up around the house and doing cooking for us (^_^)

As I am heading towards the end of my pregnancy, I kind of having this mix feelings. There are some aspect of pregnancy I don’t enjoy and mainly revolve around physical side of things e.g. carrying the heavy bump 24/7, mobility constraint, not being able to squeeze into nice nice sexy clothes, food restriction etc. Sometimes I just can’t wait to deliver, get it over and done with, then I can move on with my life.

BUT

Having said that, there are some aspects that I thoroughly enjoy being pregnant – being pampered and looked after that is! And I don’t mean just coming from husband/family, but from strangers as well. Strangers walking pass on the street, strangers you happen to be in the same lift, the SAs in the retail stores etc. I don’t know about people in Malaysia and other countries, but being pregnant, I get like extra gentle treatment here. People would stare at my tummy and give me a nice “Awwww…..” kinda smile, some would ask me about the due date/gender of the baby, they hold the lift/door for me, the SAs would give me freebies etc. I tell you, it feels good, it feels really good. Hehehehe

Anyway, I will be off work for approx 6 months, not sure how I would cope with being a full-time mum and housewife during this period but I will get through. (^_^)

My (advance) birthday celebration

So I celebrated my birthday last weekend, 2 weeks in advance! We are not sure when the BB is going to arrive, and Rick wanted to give me a nice (and last) birthday dinner celebration as a couple, making the best out of our freedom before we are “jailed” for an extend period. LOL

So Rick went ahead to make a reservation at One80°, a restaurant hiding inside Copthorne hotel at Oriental Bay. This year celebration is a bit different than the previous ones, in fact this is the first time we did it this way. We, at the very last minute decided to crash two restaurants this time. One80° for entrée & main meals, then hopped over to The White House just a few blocks away for dessert! We wanted One80° as we have never been there, then we (well, particularly myself) were attracted to the dessert menu offered at the White House. I have always wanted to try this French dessert, tarte tartin and I was extremely delighted to find it in their menu! What would I do without you, internet!

Labour long weekend

This is what has been keeping me from updating my blog.

Pandemie

Pandemie, a corporative game which players work together to treat, cure and eradicated 4 different kind of virus epidemics. This game is evil, I am so hooked!

Anyway, the long weekend has just went by in a blink of an eye. It's never long enough! Did a bit of houseworks, gardening (My pathethic garden has almost turned into a bush! *faint*), watched Angels & Demons and Confession of a Shopaholic, pregnancy photoshoot (will share the photos soon) and a nice, satiating dinner at Restaurant 88, one of our favourite restaurants!

MAC Dazzleglass Creme

Oh I have been preying for this since I read about them, and as soon as they hit the store today, I zoomed right there to catch a glimpse at the colours, literally.

To be frank, I am not a fan of MAC lipgloss/lipglass. I tried once and found it a bit too sticky for my liking though I can't deny their ever beautiful colours. When this new Dazzleglass crème came out, I was given the idea that they're less sticky yet still keeping the high shine. On top of that, it moisturizes your lips. So, it was a must try for me!

There are 9 gorgeous shades in this range:

Luscious Spark — Light orange with gold pearl
Totally Fab — Bright yellow red with pearl
Sublime Shine — Light coral brown with gold pearl
Soft Dazzle — Midtone peach pink with gold pearl
My Favourite Pink — Light blue pink with pearl
Perfectly Unordinary — Bright yellow pink with gold pearl
Do It Up — Bright blue pink with pearl
Creme Allure — Bright yellow plum
Amorous — Deep brown red with pearl

It was pretty obvious that one shade appealed to me - My Favourite Pink.

Tried it, love it! It is not sticky and it shines! The lipgloss contains quite an amount of shimmer to give the high shine effect, so I would say it is probably more appropriate for party or evening.

I was told by the MAC SA that these are limited edition (hate when they do that!) I guess I need to stock up some spares.

All in 2nd trimester

This is what I called the honeymoon period. My morning sickness has gone. I started feeling great and energetic, even more than I have used to be. Also noticed the change of my scalp. I have oily scalp and need to wash hair almost everyday, but now I can wash it every alternative day, or even once in 3 days! This is a real positive change for me (^_^) and I do hope it stays that way even after the delivery!

My craving continues but has changed a bit. I no longer constantly crave for fruits/juices or anything in particular. My craving has become irregular. Today can be no craving, tomorrow may be something sour, then the next day something else. But, most of the times, I crave for bowl of hot noodle soup.

We have also started shopping for baby stuff as soon as the gender is revealed.

Week 12: Did my blood test and had the 1st ultrasonic scan. Results all good. It was really amazing seeing the baby for the 1st time!

Week 17: I started feeling the baby kicks/movements.

Week 19: 2nd ultrasonic scan - anomaly scan (should be the last scan if everything goes well) to check the baby development and also to find out the gender of the baby (if you choose to)! I had no inkling at all about the gender before this scan. I know some mothers do.

Week 22: Saw my midwife for the regular check-up. Everything including my scan results all normal except that the radiographer couldn't get the facial profile of the baby. The BB was being shy I guess. LOL So I was told to book in for another follow-up scan.

Week 23: Had an extra follow-up scan to get the facial profile. This time, I told BB to not be shy and show show face. Silly eh? Hahahahaha. We did successfully capture the profile. (^_^)

Week 24: Started feeling pelvic joints pain :( Luckily I could still walk normally.

Week 25: Another blood test to check my glucose level and whatnot.

Week 27: The pelvic joints pain has got better though not entirely off the equation. I found that the more I exercise/walk/move, the lesser the pain is.

Week 28: Had my routine check-up. The followed up anomaly scan and the blood test results are normal though I have a bit of iron deficiency shown in my blood. The midwife recommended taking iron supplement-Ferrograd C, 3 times a week. Another blood test may be required in due course. Will see her in two weeks time.

I've put on a total of 9 kg by the end of 2nd trimester.
