This year Christmas
Woo-hoo, holiday is finally here! Hehehehe 1.5 week of holiday and I'm staying put in Wellington probably spending my holiday spring cleaning the house and be the house's slave. What to do, need to save $$ and annual leave for my next year trip bah. So have to suffer first lah, then can enjoy mah. Said until I'm so miserable like that, but actually not that bad lah, there are a lot of comforts I have for this festive season.......
Beautiful cards and ecards that warm my heart
Terrific virtual presents from FB and here that put smiles on my face
Red, juicy Malbourough cherries I love
A new job that will certainly bring excitements and challenges into the new year (Agreement signed and handed in today. hehehe)
A pair of shoes to keep me bright and shine, from me to myself

And, a box of my favourite Ferrero Rochers from Rick that melts me away
Wish you all a very happy Christmas and also a safe one!
Oops, hat too big. okok, try a different one. Here comes again.....
That's better! (^_^)

Double celebrations
Today is the last Chinese festival of the year, 冬至 (Winter Solstice Festival). It’s my favourite festival as I’m an absolute 100% 汤圆 (rice dumpling) lover. I like those basic traditional ones that my family normally have, simple colourful rice ball cooked in clear sweet syrup with pandan essence. I can eat that the whole day as my 3 meals. Hehehe
Unfortunately, I couldn't find these colourful rice balls here and am too lazy to learn to make so I had to settle with these frozen rice ball with stuffing in it. There are normally 3 flavours in the market, black sesame paste, red bean paste and peanut paste. I prefer the peanut paste one.

Today is also Rick’s birthday. Yeah, he is 100% 冬至子! Hehehe
We went to enjoy dim sum at Dragon (previously known as Eastern Sunrise). Don’t know why the change of name, it is basically the same management as I could see. Anyway, no matter as long as the food is still good.
Then, it was the essential cake cutting ceremony. This time we have green tea flavoured cake and it certainly nicer than my Taro cake.

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? No need to work loh
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Can’t think of any, they’re all extremely sweet. Do cherries count as dessert?
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Christmas décors/lightings
17. What is on top of your tree? I didn’t put up the tree this year, but an angle (i.e LB in his white dress) would be wonderful. Hehehe
18. Which do you like best, giving or receiving? Both
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Last Christmas by George Michael
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby do you recognise me?
Well it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me
(Happy Christmas!) I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying "I Love You" I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now I know you'd fool me again
20. Do you like candy canes? For décor ok, but don’t like to consume any.
May I pass this festive tag to:

Beowulf
Watched Beowulf last night. It was a date as Rick put it. Hehehe. To my surprise, it turned out to be a complete CG movie! I was a bit disappointed as I had been wanting to see real sexy Angelina Jolie in action. Couldn't believe how ignorant I'd been! Anyway, the movie was good though I found it extremely hard to comprehend their ancient English. Lucky the story was pretty easy to catch on. That said, all I could remember is the hot, sexy, seductive Angelina Jolie! *drool*

Christmas dinner at Mac
I accompany Rick to his company's Christmas dinner at Mac's Brewery last night. I still remember before Mac's Brewery came to life, it used to be an abandoned old building standing tall by the waterfront with broken glasses all over. It was a sight that you just couldn't miss strolling along the waterfront.
Anyway, prior to the dinner, we mingled around over some drinks on the deck, overlooking the beautiful harbour. The weather was calm and warm. It was a perfect evening. I finally met the people whom I heard a lot of, either from Rick or from my colleagues. Rick and I are in the same industry you see, so we have a lot of mutual colleagues/ex-colleagues. It is a small industry afterall.
The dinner started at 7pm sharp. We got ourselves settling down comfortably at one of the tables. We were served with beautiful luscious salmon entree followed by a buffet dinner and then scrumptious chocalate cake and Christmas pudding. The food was good, ambience was pleasant and it was a lovely night.

New age new hair 2
I made an apparent change of hairstyle after my birthday last year. This year, no exception, with new age comes the new look. I guess when I hit my 50, it wouldn't be just the change of hairstyle but a facelift! Hahaha...sigh...I don't really want to go there....
I took a bigger step this time, going out of my comfort zone.......
This was THEN......
And...moment of truth.....

This is NOW
To be honest, it is not what I had in mind, but I guess I could live with this. All I need is a little bit of time to get use to seeing this person in the mirror.
