Mount Victoria

Take a break (^_^)T, let’s go for a walk in the woods….and see if we can find any treasure.....

Somewhere in this mountain, lies the footprints of the hobbits where they hid from the Black Riders

This photo is taken by Rick, not me. Hehehe

My new toy

I had a long day out today.

First thing, we went shopping for my new toy and Rick's too. He got himself a new Canon lens, and mine? THIS!!!!!!!

Canon IXUS 80 IS

I've been eyeing for this long time. Yeah, the sleek fashionable design and of course the colours caught my attention to this little thing. After a brief read of the reviews, my desire of owning one of these was set on stone. I WANT IT! So, today is the day!

Brown! It is love at first sight! I also bought a Canon IXUS white leather pouch to dress my baby up!

And this is my ancient Canon Powershot A80 which has served me for more than 5 years. I still like it very much but it is really too bulky and heavy for me to carry everyday. It will be semi retired.

To conclude the day, we had some Indian curries for dinner, at Roti Chenai.....

Me, very happy! \(^O^)/

All about loving you

I visited missmall last night and through out the whole of today, I just couldn't shake my head off this MV in her post. I am so in love with this song and the MV. This is one hell of a MV that makes my heart pounding so hard, goose bump all bumping up and eventually melt my heart away.....watch this (till the end!) if you haven't done so and you'll know what I mean.

All About Loving You
Looking at the pages of my life
Faded memories of me and you
Mistakes you know I've made a few
I took some shots and fell from time to time
Baby, you were there to pull me through
We've been around the block a time or two
I'm gonna lay it on the line
Ask me how we've come this far
The answer's written in my eyes

Chorus:
Every time I look at you, baby,
I see something new
That takes me higher than before
and makes me want you more
I don't wanna sleep tonight,
dreamin's just a waste of time
When I look at what my life's been comin' to
I'm all about lovin' you

I've lived,
I've loved,
I've lost,
I've paid some dues,
baby
We've been to hell and back again
Through it all you're always my best friend
For all the words I didn't say
and all the things I didn't do
Tonight I'm gonna find a way

Chorus:
Every time I look at you,
baby, I see something new
That takes me higher than before
and makes me want you more
I don't wanna sleep tonight,
dreamin's just a waste of time
When I look at what my life's been comin' to
I'm all about lovin' you

You can take this world away
You're everything I am
Just read the lines upon my face
I'm all about lovin' you

Chorus:
Every time I look at you, baby,
I see something new
That takes me higher than before
and makes me want you more
I don't wanna sleep tonight,
dreamin's just a waste of time
When I look at what my life's been comin' to
I'm all about lovin' you
All about lovin' you

On a side note, I permed my hair last weekend. Let me see, when was the last time I visited my hairstylist? Emmm......9.5 months ago!!!! (0_0)!! Geez, I couldn't believe I had been treating my mane so badly! I had a normal perm previously and abandoned it since. No trim, no maintenance, no nothing! Split ends everywhere!

I went for ceramic perm this time. First time trying out this perm and was pretty nervy about it since it is expensive. After a long 4 hours process, here is the result.........

So? What do ya think? Just be honest. But if it is not nice, just lie lah! Muahahaha. I quite like it. It would be a lot nicer if my hair is longer.

Weekend getaway and a wedding

I am good, safe and sound. Eye has recovered (I think) but am still using the eye drop just in case. The wound on my knee has mostly dried out and peeled off except the deep cut. The opening is taking it's time to heal.

Anyway, enough for all these suffering. Let's share something delightful, shall we? Rick and I attended my colleague's wedding in the weekend, held in Featherston, about 1.5 hour drive from Wellington. We decided to take this opportunity to have a weekend getaway, it was much needed anyway (especially for myself). Accomodation was booked just 2 days before and were able to secure the last unit. (see, my luck has finally turned!) We stayed in Oak Estate in Greytown, just 15 mins away from the wedding venue.

Although both Featherston and Greytown are very small towns, but the thought of parting from the mundane routine and seeing something different really freshened up my mind. We took our time exploring Featherston before heading off to the wedding.

The wedding started at 4pm. It was good, simple yet very different and interesting. The kiwi couple decided to spice up their ceremony with a bit of ritualism like circle casting, jumping over a bloom, handfasting, wine blessing. These are all new to me, but I find it meaningful. The wedding ceremony was then followed by a traditional kiwi roast meal in a relaxing ambience, with live Jazz music/singing. I love Jazz!

We then retired to our motel for a quiet night, me reading magazine in my flannelette pyjamas over a hot choco while Rick watching SKY TV. After a long week, not so long drive, and a long day, this is just what we needed.

We spent the next morning walking around Greytown, visiting garden. Just before we left our motel, we saw the motel owner's cute little golden retriever puppy tottering around, playing with the flowers. He is such a cutie! So cute can? I just wanna hug him tight tight, real tight! Awwwwww.........

Outside the motel

And, later enjoyed our big breakkies at Salute before heading back to Wellington. We were here 2 years ago for an afternoon cuppa, and now we returned for breakfast. Next time, probably dinner. LOL. Their breakfasts were extremely heavenly especially the omelette, nice cappuccino too and not to mention, friendly staff.

Double strike

It seems like when bad luck strikes, it strikes hard!

It's like the fall on the street wasn't enough, now my right eye is infected. It started last Friday night, got all swollen and sore the whole weekend. I don't know why and how as I didn't do or use anything unusual. BAD LUCK!!! (>_<)!

Went to see doctor yesterday, nothing too serious but the flesh underneath my eyelid looked pretty red. The doctor prescribed some eye drop for me to use in daytime and ointment at night. The swell has now subsided, eye looks normal but still a bit sore when it is pressed on. Sigh! I have been hiding behind my thick glasses with no eye make-up, and I feel ugly. I AM UGLY! I AM AN UGLY DUCK WITH A CACAT KNEE AND EXTREMELY BAD MOOD! So, keep your distance if you don't wanna get bitten! I will QUECK, BITE and KILL! Muahahahahaha *evil laughter*

P/S: I shouldn't complain, it could have been worst (-_-)

The fall of a potato

I had a bad start of the day today. Early early in the morning already hurt my knee? HOW?

Hai....this morning, on my way to the office, after I bade goodbye to Rick and was about to rushed across the road before the pedestrian traffic light turned red, lo and behold, PANG!!!! I slipped and the big potato fell (gracefully lah, muahahaha) by the side of the street. OMG, you have no idea how embarrassing I was. Wearing so nice, knee length skirt some more, and then falling (gracefully ok) right before so many eyes!!! Ok, not many eyes lah actually, too early in the morning, but enough to make me so embarrassing! I so wanted to dip my head right into a hole if I could find one. Rick rushed back and helped me up. *hole leh, where is the HOLE for my head when I need it!?!?!*

So yeah, I could still walk to my office but the pain kicked in about half an hour later and I was limping whole day.

LONE STAR

Dined at Lone Star today. The last time I was there was years ago. All I could remember about this restaurant was their big serving and their famous redneck ribs.

Photo taken from Lone Star.co.nz

The restaurant is of texas, comboy theme. The environment is nice and cosy, relaxing country music, friendly staff and most of all, their huge serving. I hate seeing my food filling less than 50% of the big plate. What a waste of space!

Always happy with food in front of me!

Yeah, we cleaned it! (well almost!)

And, this is what I wore today.....

My new boots!

Good Night!
