Anniversary double deal

So here comes the celebration. I had a double deal from Rick. A casual supper at Denny’s as soon as he arrived back home. It was a rather informal celebration before the special day ends. So I dragged along my sleepy face. lol

Then, we had the formal fine dinning at The Grill the day after. The food was quite a disappointment to me. Their so called Tom Yum soup tasted more like curry. My grilled chicken was dry and salty. The cheesy sticking rice that came with the chicken was horribly yucky. Rick’s Duck confit was nice though. The only comfort for me was their warm chocolate mint dom cake. Don’t think I would go back there again.

Happy anniversary, and alone

Today is our 4th wedding anniversary, also 13th dating anniversary. And, I am at home all alone, doing the laundry, ironing almost all day long. Having my dinners, breakfasts and lunches all ALONE for 2 days!! Now, I am sitting here typing this entry. Sigh!

Where the hell is he? BUSINESS TRIP!!!!! Yeah, attending a 2-day conference in Christchurch. Sigh sigh! The company better treat him well!!

We have agreed to celebrate tomorrow, a day late but as long as he is here, all else doesn’t matter. Being a good wife, I have also asked not to be given any presents. Yeah, me damn nice lah. Hahahahha NOT! Actually half nice only. Rick has spent quite a bomb buying me one thing and I just feel guilty asking more from him. So, I don’t mind not having any anniversary and birthday presents this year. See, I am easily pleased! Hahaha.

Happy anniversary my dear. It’s funny how as time goes by, the love I have for you grows stronger and stronger. I thank you for all the love and happiness you bring into my (and our) world. Without you, I wither. I LOVE YOU

The price of beauty?

It's unbeliveable how a person would go all out to just to stay young.....

Reese Witherspoon eats anti-ageing cookies. (fat free too?)

Angelina Jolie's uses a new treatment, Dermaroller, which has razor-sharp pins passed over the face to make the pores bleed. It is claimed that pricking the skin makes the body produce increased amounts of collagen to mend the damage. (Ouch! Does that really work?)

Demi Moore covered herself in blood-sucking leeches to cleanse her body. *shudder*

Debbie Harry had black sheep embryo injections to stay looking young. There were a total of 11 injections to complete! (This is the cruellest method I've ever heard of)

While I was reading all these through STUFF, I was like "Oh my god....is this for real?" Are those methods effective and save? Sure, we all fear for being all wrinkled and saggy. We try all we can to battle with time in the hope for a glory victory. I too want to look young as long as I could if not forever, but I seriously don't think I would go this far. Would you? I would rather go for the more conventional proven method i.e facelift which has instant result than having bleeding face or leeches all over me *shudder*

My take on Perth

Perth as I see it, is a nice sunny place. Through out my stay, the weather had always been good and beautiful sunset everyday! Life there is relaxing, more so than in New Zealand if I must compare. The shopping malls, supermarkets and shops are closed on Sunday. Supermarkets close at 5pm on weekdays and Saturday! What a good life they're having!

This trip is mainly to spend quality time with my family, so I didn't get out much. More than half of the times I stayed at home with my parents. It was more like a quiet and lazy vacation. LOL And, I got to enjoy mum's cooking! I had bak chang, Sarawak laksa, curry, fried rice cake, braised soya pork etc etc (^_^). Nothing in the world beats the taste of home.

It was great to see my nephew again. He is growing up real fast, very active, talkative, funny, smart(good genes!)and love to eat. *lol* Declan is very sociable. You ask him to sing, he sings for you out loud. Try bombarding him with questions, he would answer all of them till you sick of it. He will greet you "Good Morning" when he wakes up in the morning. I love kid like this, bold, friendly and well-mannered. If I have a kid like Declan, I will be all over the moon! Oh I miss him.....I miss how he calls me...小姑姑~~ *melt~~~~~*

Perth: Farm day out

First day back to work after 10 days of holiday. I thought it would be real hard to get my lazy butt of my bed, but I woke up unbelievably full of energy. Hmm.....this is strange. It was good to be back though I am still wallowing in my time in Perth.

Anyway, there is more to share about my trip.

It was another sunny Saturday (as always!). My bro decided to take us to the orchards and do some fruit picking. The highlight for me was to finally see my favourite local fruit - persimmon trees! I still remember when I was young, I could only lay my hands on dehydrated persimmon, fresh ones were never in sight. The very first bite of the fresh persimmon when I first arrived in New Zealand took my breath (and heart) away.

Perth: The tour around

Time flies. It's been more than a week in Perth already. This trip is mainly to spend quality time with my family. I didn't go out much, but did have a walk around some famous spots.

We visited King's park last Sunday. A nice picnic spot overlooking beautiful Perth city. Perth has beautiful sunset almost everyday. Weather here has been superb.

Perth at dusk by the Swan river (a bit like Hong Kong, don't you think?)

The following Monday, we had a quick dropped by Freemantle, famous for it's fish & chips. We didn't have any, not quite a fan of fish & chips.

Fremantle

Thursday, parents and I decided to have some adventures around Perth ourshelves. We hopped on the train to Perth CBD. The two famous departmental stores, Myer and David Jones were having their big stoke take sales of the year. Gosh, you have no idea how long we were there, rummaging through the racks and running between fitting rooms. Sad to report, I came out empty handed :(
